President Tinubu Names DCG Kemi Nandap as Nigeria Immigration Service Comptroller-General

In a significant development, President Bola Tinubu has sanctioned the appointment of Deputy Comptroller-General Kemi Nanna Nandap as the new Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service. The announcement came through a statement issued on Wednesday by Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.

Effective from March 1, 2024, Nandap's appointment marks a transition in leadership as she succeeds Mrs. Caroline Wura-Ola Adepoju, whose tenure concludes on February 29, 2024.

Prior to her elevation to the role of Comptroller-General, Nandap served as the Deputy Comptroller-General overseeing the Migration Directorate of the Service, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to her new position.

The statement from the President's office expressed optimism that Nandap's leadership would drive forward the ongoing reforms within the Immigration Service. It emphasized the importance of enhancing service delivery to Nigerians while reinforcing the nation's security posture through proactive border security measures and efficient migration management.

President Tinubu's decision reflects a strategic move to ensure continuity and effectiveness in the operations of the Nigeria Immigration Service, underlining the administration's commitment to safeguarding national interests and promoting efficiency in public service delivery.

Further details regarding Nandap's vision and plans for the Immigration Service are expected to emerge as she assumes her new role, heralding a new chapter in the agency's mandate to secure Nigeria's borders and manage migration effectively.
