The community of Eziagu in Enugu State is reeling in horror after a man popularly known as a billionaire was allegedly exposed for burying multiple victims — including a pregnant woman and her mother — alive inside his home.
What initially appeared to be an ordinary soakaway pit in his compound was uncovered as a mass grave, reportedly filled with the decomposing bodies of several individuals. Eyewitnesses from the village claim the victims were buried alive, allegedly for ritual purposes tied to the man’s sudden wealth.
According to reports, the suspect, whose lavish lifestyle made him a familiar face at parties and social gatherings, was apprehended by enraged villagers after suspicions led to a search of his property. In a shocking turn of events, the community took swift action, setting his house ablaze and parading him naked through the streets after a severe beating.
"This is someone we always saw as a big man—always spraying money, living large. Who would have thought this kind of evil was hiding behind all that?" a resident said.
The gruesome discovery has sparked outrage across social media, with many calling for justice and deeper investigations into similar cases across the region.
