Charly Boy Reveals Past Engagement in Banking Scams Before 419 Trend Emerged
Renowned singer and social activist, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has disclosed that he was involved in scamming banks before the notorious "419 fraud" became prevalent in Nigeria.
In the latest episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, co-hosted by actor Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, also known as Nedu, Charly Boy made the revelation. He recounted his early involvement in fraudulent activities, stating, "I was scamming banks even before una begin hear of 419, I don do small."
Charly Boy also attributed certain aspects of his upbringing, particularly the influence of his late father, Justice Chukwudifu Oputa, to his unconventional life path. He mentioned that his father's strict adherence to religion had a significant impact on him.
Reflecting on his lengthy marriage, Charly Boy emphasized that sustaining a marriage for 45 years requires hard work and commitment. He dispelled the notion that love alone is sufficient for a successful marriage, highlighting the complexities and challenges inherent in long-term relationships.
The veteran entertainer, who previously asserted that marriage is akin to a "lifetime sentence," clarified his stance, affirming that despite the difficulties encountered, his marriage has endured due to the strong connection between him and his spouse.
