In a recent development, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has provided reassurance regarding the health status of King Charles III, stating that his cancer was detected at an early stage.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 on Tuesday, Sunak expressed his initial shock and concern upon hearing the news of the king's diagnosis but emphasized that the cancer had been discovered early, offering hope for effective treatment.
"Thankfully, this was caught early," Sunak remarked, addressing the public concern surrounding the monarch's health condition.
The announcement of King Charles III's cancer diagnosis came following a visit to a London hospital last month for a corrective procedure related to an enlarged prostate. Buckingham Palace issued a statement on Monday, disclosing that during the hospital stay, a separate issue was identified, leading to subsequent diagnostic tests confirming the presence of cancer.
While the palace did not provide specifics regarding the type or stage of cancer, it clarified that it was unrelated to prostate cancer.
