The Anambra State Police Command has arrested six suspects and recovered a large quantity of various hard substances during a raid of a drug den in Oko community, Orumba North Local Government Area of the state.
In a press statement released on Thursday, the Spokesman for the Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the exercise was carried out after the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, observed that drugs are the reason behind most criminal activities.
Ikenga added that the CP has emphasised the significant role that substance abuse plays in fueling crime and has directed a major clampdown on all criminal activities in Oko and its environs.
