Power Outages Plague Communities in Edo, Oyo, and Bayelsa States
Numerous communities across Edo and Oyo states are currently grappling with power outages stemming from technical glitches, exacerbating the challenges faced by residents. In addition, Bayelsa State is slated for a power interruption due to the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company's imperative to replace a faulty circuit breaker.

The Benin Electricity Distribution Company Plc (BEDC) addressed the outage affecting 11 communities, citing damage to critical power infrastructure servicing the areas. The management assured customers of ongoing efforts by their technical team to rectify the damage and restore power supply promptly.

Similarly, the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company alerted residents of seven communities in Oyo State about power disruptions caused by technical faults on the Lalupon 33kV feeder. The company assured customers of efforts to swiftly restore power supply, expressing regret for any inconvenience caused.

Furthermore, the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHED) informed customers in Bayelsa of an outage at the Yenagoa 132KV Transmission Station necessitating the replacement of a faulty circuit breaker. Customers were assured of the restoration of supply upon completion of maintenance work, with apologies for any inconvenience experienced.

These power outages add to the challenges faced by Nigerians already contending with low power supply due to the refusal of gas companies to supply gas to power-generating companies owing to debt. Despite assurances from the Federal Government to address the issue, normalcy remains elusive in the power sector, heightening frustrations among citizens enduring prolonged disruptions.
