NSCDC Deploys 1,384 Officers Across Kano for Easter Festivities
In anticipation of the Easter celebrations, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, has taken proactive measures to ensure the safety and security of residents. A total of 1,384 operatives have been strategically deployed across churches and key locations within the state.
This move, aimed at facilitating peaceful and smooth festivities during Good Friday and Easter Monday, reflects the commitment of the NSCDC to maintaining public order and safety. SC Ibrahim Abdullahi, the Public Relations Officer of the command, disclosed this information in a statement shared with The PUNCH on Friday.
According to the statement, Mohammed Falala, the State Commandant of NSCDC Kano Command, personally directed the deployment of personnel to various churches and strategic points. The deployment encompasses a range of departments within the command, including the Operation Department, Critical National Assets Protection Department, Armed Squad, and Anti-Vandalism Units.
Abdullahi emphasized that the deployment is intended to complement the efforts of personnel stationed at divisional offices, ensuring comprehensive security coverage throughout the Easter period. This proactive approach underscores the NSCDC's dedication to safeguarding lives and property during festive occasions.
The Federal Government had earlier declared Friday, March 29, and Monday, April 1, 2024, as public holidays for Christians nationwide, marking Good Friday and Easter Monday, respectively. The deployment of NSCDC operatives aligns with the government's commitment to ensuring the peaceful observance of these religious holidays.
As Nigerians prepare to commemorate Easter, the presence of NSCDC personnel across Kano serves as a reassuring measure, instilling confidence in the public and enhancing the overall security landscape of the state.
