Rivers State Governor Issues Stern Warning Against Sabotage of Housing Project
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has issued a stern warning against any attempts to sabotage the ongoing 20,000 housing units project in the state, emphasizing his government's commitment to dealing decisively with disruptors. The governor expressed his stance during an inspection visit to the project site along the Obiri-Ikwerre-Airport Road in Ohio/Akpor Local Government Area.
The project, aimed at providing decent accommodation for low-income earners, has faced threats from certain community members. Governor Fubara, represented by his Chief of Staff, Boniface Onyedi, cautioned against any disruptions to the construction work, emphasizing that the government had diligently acquired the land for the project.
Fubara underscored the importance of utilizing proper channels to address concerns with the government instead of resorting to acts of sabotage. He firmly stated, "Nobody should come here and disturb the contractor, that is the truth because I am going to take it personally as sabotage to my government."
Addressing reported community issues, Fubara reassured that the project adhered to proper protocols and land acquisition procedures. He emphasized that any encroachment concerns should be directed to the appropriate authorities.
Asserting his commitment to providing decent housing, Governor Fubara pledged full support to the contractor, acknowledging the significant progress made on the project site.
