Kano denies involvement in Tiktoker’s case                 

 The Kano State Government has refuted any involvement in the ongoing legal proceedings concerning Murja Kunya, a TikToker who is facing charges for allegedly sharing inappropriate video content, which contravenes state laws.

Despite Kunya being known as a staunch supporter of the current administration, the government, through the Commissioner for Information, Baba Dantiye, has vehemently denied the allegations circulating on social media, labeling them as untrue and mischievous.

Dantiye emphasized the government's commitment to upholding the constitutional provisions that delineate the separation of powers among the judiciary, legislature, and executive branches. He assured that the government would not interfere with the judicial process and respects the independence of the judiciary in reaching a fair and just verdict.

The court recently remanded Kunya in a Kano correctional center following her arrest by Hisba and subsequent arraignment for allegedly 'recruiting' young girls into prostitution. Dantiye clarified that Kunya was arraigned before an Upper Shari’ah Court in Nassarawa Local Government area on charges related to sharing vulgar video content on social media. He further explained that Kunya's case is still ongoing, with additional allegations prompting further investigation by security agencies.

In conclusion, the statement urged the public to dismiss the allegations against the state government, portraying them as an attempt to tarnish its reputation.
