President Bola Tinubu has extended his congratulations to Aliko Dangote, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Group, following the announcement of his conferment with Senegal’s highest national honor, the National Order of the Lion.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, on Thursday, President Tinubu praised Dangote for his exceptional industry and extensive impact, not only within Nigeria but also beyond, in creating opportunities and meeting critical needs.
The statement highlighted, "President Bola Tinubu congratulates Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President and Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Group, on the award of the National Order of the Lion by President Macky Sall of Senegal."
"The award, which is the highest order of Senegal, will be bestowed upon the eminent businessman on February 2, 2024."
President Tinubu commended Dangote for his entrepreneurial spirit and innovative contributions, which have led to job creation and economic opportunities across Nigeria and West Africa. The President also expressed his best wishes for Dangote's future endeavors.
The National Order of the Lion, established on October 22, 1960, is a prestigious recognition in Senegal, awarded for outstanding civil and military contributions. It stands as one of Senegal's two national orders, alongside the Order of Merit.
