According to Linda Ikeji Blog Four female bus passengers were killed in a tragic accident on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos.
Some passengers were seriously injured in the crash on Sunday morning, May 1.
The Lagos State Sector of the Federal Road Safety Corps has confirmed the incident in a statement signed by Route Commander Olabisi Shonusi.
"The accident happened on Sunday 1st May, 2022 around 05:50Am when a Toyota Hiace with registration number FST 241 YC gray exited the Adekunle inter-change in the Iyana-oworo exploded at a high speed and overturned with 20 passengers (9 Male, 11 women).
"Five occupants of the occupants sustained injuries, while three elderly women were pronounced dead at the scene. One woman died at the hospital while the FRSC team was being followed at General Hospital, Marina."
"All first responders including the FRSC, Nigerian police, LASTMA and LASEMA Rescue Unit rescued the injured victims and the bodies were taken to the General Hospital Marina," the statement said.
